Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Progress
Celebrate the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception’s 100th Anniversary With Us
In December of 2012, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Wichita will celebrate its 100th anniversary. In anticipation of the significant milestone, the Catholic Diocese of Wichita undertook a massive renovation and expansion of the Cathedral and adjacent buildings. New office space for Catholic Charities will be created in a former parish school building; a new parish hall will be created from a former gymnasium; new courtyards will flank a new building to house a parish gathering space; and the cathedral will be renovated to make the building fully accessible, modernizing the building systems and public spaces.
We are proud to be a part of the Catholic Diocese project which was designed by the Architectural Innovations team and constructed by the Simpson Construction Services team. Ruggles & Bohm provided civil engineering, utility planning, landscape and irrigation design, and other site planning services.
